We are committed to protecting your personal data and handling it in a way that is transparent, fair, and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

2. What data we collect
When you use FastAfter50, we may collect the following:
- Account data — your email address and password (stored as a secure hash)
- Fasting data — the fasting schedules you select, start and end times of your fasts, and your fasting history
- Subscription data — your subscription status, trial start date, and plan type (monthly or annual)
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We only receive confirmation that a payment was made.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device type, collected automatically for security and performance purposes
3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)
- Contract performance — to provide you with the FastAfter50 service you have signed up for
- Legitimate interests — to keep the app secure, fix issues, and improve the service
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and regulations
4. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account
- To track your fasting activity and display your history
- To manage your free trial and subscription
- To send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset). We do not send marketing emails unless you have separately opted in.

5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted third-party services necessary to run the app:
- Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — transactional email delivery (Brevo Privacy Policy)
- Railway — cloud hosting and database (Railway Privacy Policy)
All third-party processors are contractually bound to keep your data secure and to use it only for the purpose of providing their service to us.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account and fasting data is retained for as long as your account is active
- If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days
- We may retain anonymised, aggregated data (with no link to you personally) indefinitely for service improvement

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

8. Cookies

We take the security of your data seriously. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to our systems is restricted and monitored.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last updated.
